I finally gave in and created a new site, Long Beach Patriots. We are not going to sit by and allow anyone, Republican or Democrat, to destroy our country. I want to throw all of the bums out except for one gentleman, Congressman Tom McClintock. He says plainly what he means, and he means what he says. We need more people like this in Congress. It is a shame most people don’t want to go through the ringer just to serve the people. I suggest we change this. Now THAT is change we can believe in!

Here are my first two post:

1. Long Beach Patriots Has Arrived.
2. Numbers, Names To Call.

I shall be posting all political news having to do with the Tea Parties and healthcare over there, but I will let you know when I have done so by posting the title here. Well, I tried to keep it down to one blog. What can I say? 😉

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

(This post was started on the 22nd.) Hello all. I am back, but I am going to be posting several (over 200) posts that I’ve been putting off because I was so busy with the Tea Parties. BTW, I have a conference call tonight, and there is an excellent program tonight at PJTV which is going to have doctors, experts, lawmakers, etc., on the show to explain what is happening and cut through the crap they call politics. It will be interactive, so give it a watch at PJTV Healthcare Forum @ 6pm EST Wednesday evening and 7pm EST. Do not mistaken believe that 7pm is the same as 6pm! It is not. Just a heads up. 😉

As I post the articles, I shall post their links here. I know it’s a long time ago to some of you younguns. *heh*

Internet Explorer 8

If you have been resisting Internet Explorer 8 as I have, maybe it is time that we have no choice. Do you ever use YouTube? How about Twitter? Facebook? The Internet? Well, they are going to stop allowing me to use my IE 6. Creeps.

I have no choice. They shouldn’t make products they are only going to get rid of down the line. What if people like them? Doesn’t matter. They don’t care. They’ve got their money, their fancy cars and the such. What about us poor people? What about rich people who don’t have the time or desire to relearn everything they learned in the first place using the damn product in the first place? They don’t care, and why should they? Makes me wonder about buying American from some companies…

Anyway, I’m going to do the switch, and I will keep you updated on the changes I find. If you are like me and blog, everytime you clean out your temporary files (in Internet Options), you will no longer have the choice of whether or not to keep them. You cannot. It will also clear your history whenever you clear your temp. files.

I’ve tried it before. That’s how I know. That is also the reason I made them give me back my IE 6! Have a nice day.

Update 1: I want to scream! Nothing is where THEY say it is, I hate this friggin crap. I’m thinking about going Apple. Seriously. The way Windows threatens people by having it on every site I go to that if I did not do this, that particular place was going to stop accepting IE 6. Those bastards.

Update 2: I was so lost that I figured I would check out their help. They have an e-mail button, so I clicked on it. You know who the email went to? ME!?! So I figured I would share it with you.

Problem: Technical

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! It is so frustrating when I have over 300 issues I have to report and you won’t allow me to keep IE 6. Why not? I have to learn a whole new application just so I can continue my job? WHY? I don’t have the time.

Oh, I’ve been to your help sites. I’ve looked for what they’ve said to look for to fix the situation. IT ISN’T THERE! Then what do I do? This is 1st grade stuff that you make grad school problems out of it. Please stop doing this to your customers, or I’m going APPLE!

My problem? How do I turn off these daggone accelerants that you seem to think are so cute? They block me everywhere I go, EVEN THOUGH I turned them off through the Wizard. Huh? They’re still working even though I told them not to? Okay, I have time to figure this out.

Does the Military have time to wait for me to do this or should I get back to work? Where is your location? I’m sure you appreciate if I protected it, wouldn’t you? Then please don’t make threats such as, “We are going to stop responding to browser that are using IE 6.” at YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo, everywhere I go. (Not a physical threat, no, but a job killing one.)

Please forgive my frustration. I have been so busy and now this. You’ll never hear me say, “What could happen next?”!

Have a nice evening.

Sincerely,

Rosemary

Okay, I know I’m not in the military, but I do a lot for them. No, I don’t get paid. So what’s the talk about losing my job? I was seriously ready to give up ever getting on this computer again. It was a build up of a whole bunch of things that I don’t feel like rehashing. The good news is, I’m over it. Have a nice day.

PS. IE 8 is SLOWER than IE 6.

I’m so sorry. I know I haven’t been faithfully writing, but I have been very busy reading, answering e-mails, trying to get this Tea Party together, scheduling, calling Congress, the Senate, the White House, and our state legistors. There simply isn’t enough time a day to get all of this done! I just wanted to give you a shout out to let you know you are not forgotten. I appreciate all of my readers. If you could just hang on for a day or two longer, I’ll be back to writing. (It may take until after the 4th of July.)

Of course I do get the urge from out of the blue to write, so there may be something for you to read anyway. I will write about my progress. Oh, that reminds me. I have two musicians who’ve sent me their sounds and let me tell you, they are good. Very good. I’m going to be writing a post about them but until then, here are their websites: TheEagleAndTheLady by Allen Orchowski and Backbone Music USA – We Love Our Country! (the Spirit Driven Band). I hope you enjoy them! They want all Tea Party organizers to use them FREE at our Tea Party’s. Give people their websites. Help them to get known. Please. Thank you.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Saudi authorities contradict U.S. Park Service: mihrabs do NOT have to point
exactly at Mecca

Blogburst logo, petition

A Muslim consultant told the Park Service in 2006 that the Crescent of Embrace memorial to Flight 93 cannot be seen as a mihrab (the Mecca-direction indicator around which every mosque is built), because the giant Islamic-shaped crescent does not point exactly at Mecca:

Mihrab orientation is either correct or not. It cannot be off by some degrees.

Saudi religious authorities recently had to address this question when observers noted that some 200 mosques in Mecca itself do not point directly at the Kaaba (the “Sacred Mosque” that all Muslims are supposed to face for prayer). Meccans who worried that their prayers might not count were assured by the Islamic Affairs Ministry that “it does not affect the prayers.”

The necessity for such a rule is obvious. Throughout most of Islam’s 1400 year history, Muslims who were any significant distance from Mecca had no accurate way to determine the direction to Mecca. Thus it became established religious principle that what matters is intent. It is the mind of the believer that needs to face directly towards the Kaaba, and directly towards God. This principle applies in Mecca the same as anywhere else.

All the great mosques of the ancient world point well away from Mecca

Older mosques often point 10, 20, 30 or more degrees away from Mecca. The most famous mihrab in the world, the mihrab of the Great Mosque in Cordoba Spain, points more than 45° off of Mecca:

The Cordoba mihrab points south, while Mecca is east-southeast of Spain.

In contrast, the Crescent of Embrace points a mere 1.8° north of Mecca, ± 0.1°, which is highly accurate by Islamic standards.

The Muslim consultant who lied to the Park Service was a classmate of architect Paul Murdoch

Who told the Park Service that a mihrab has to point exactly at Mecca to be legitimate? It was Nasser Rabbat, a professor of Islamic architecture at MIT and an expert in the history of mosque design. No one knows better than Professor Rabbat that mihrab orientation does NOT have to be exact.

There is only one reason why Rabbat would lie to the Park Service about such a basic fact. He recognizes that the giant Mecca-oriented crescent at the heart of the Flight 93 memorial IS a legitimate mihrab, and he wants this al Qaeda sympathizing plot to succeed.

A look at Rabbat’s background shows that he was a classmate of Crescent of Embrace architect Paul Murdoch, both getting masters degrees in architecture from UCLA in 1984 and both doing their masters work on Middle Easter subjects. (Murdoch wrote a “masters project” titled: “A museum for Haifa, Israel.” Rabbat wrote a master thesis on house design in Cairo and Damascus.)

This prior connection between Murdoch and Rabbat raises the possibility that Murdoch himself was able to orchestrate the Park Service investigation into warnings about his own design. By the same token, having the two classmates both show up in the Flight 93 memorial raises the possibility that Rabbat was Murdoch’s source of expertise on how to incorporate the full complement of typical mosque features into his Crescent design. (For the dozen typical mosque features, see Crescent of Embrace, chapter 5.)

The Crescent of Embrace also includes an exact Mecca-orientation

While exact orientation on Mecca is not a traditional requirement, modern mosque designers do generally employ now-available techniques for orienting their mihrabs more precisely on Mecca than was previously possible. Murdoch satisfies this modern norm (and provides hidden proof of intent) by including a true thematically-defined crescent that does point exactly at Mecca.

Murdoch’s thematic explanation for his crescent design is that the circle was broken on 9/11 by the path of Flight 93. The terrorist-piloted airplane smashes our peaceful circle, turning it into a giant Islamic-shaped crescent (that just happens to point to Mecca). The terrorist-memorializing implications of this theme are hardly less overt than the Islamic symbol shapes themselves. Nothing particularly subtle here folks.

The symbolic breaking of the circle occurs at the upper crescent tip, where the fifty-foot tall, thousand-foot long Entry Portal Wall is parted by the Entry Portal Walkway, which follows the flight path through the wall:

The section of wall to the right of the walkway in this image is symbolically “broken off” by the flight path. Remove this symbolically broken off part, and the remaining crescent structure points EXACTLY at Mecca, ± 0.1°:

What symbolically remains standing in the wake of 9/11: a giant Islamic-shaped crescent pointing EXACTLY at Mecca.

Rabbat knew about this too, since the original report that Rabbat was commenting on detailed both the slightly inexact Mecca-orientation of the full Crescent of Embrace, and the exact-Mecca-orientation that results when the symbolically broken-off parts are removed. Same for the Park Service. As the original recipient of Alec Rawls‘ report, the Park Service knew about both orientations. They also knew, because it was also in the original report, that a mihrab does NOT have to point exactly at Mecca. Yet they still publicly touted Rabbat’s claim that the crescent can’t be seen as a mihrab because it doesn’t point exactly at Mecca. A veritable web of self-conscious lies by Rabbat AND the Park Service.

The design is called a broken circle now, but the circle is still broken in the same place as before (where the flight path crosses the upper crescent tip). The unbroken part of the circle, what is symbolically left standing in the wake of 9/11, remains completely unchanged. It is still a giant-Islamic shaped crescent, still pointing exactly at Mecca.

I Am Not Ashamed

It has come to my attention there is another pledge of allegiance that has been suggested by a very young man who sees the fruits of discontent abound in his school. From his words, his broken heart, a poem/pledge he sees as the future.

Is this what we have allowed? Why did we stand by and do nothing? Could we not have at least shouted from the rooftops about the wrongs perpetrated on our society? Don’t we hate injustice? Don’t we believe in Liberty? Don’t we know the difference between right and wrong? Then why has it come to this?

Let us pray that in the future we do not back down because of discomfort or embarrassment. After all, God did not deny or abandon us while we were yet sinners, and we are still only as rags in His sight. It is His Son who cleanses us white as snow. So let us give to God the glory for which He is so abundantly and amazingly deserving. 😉
******************************
Since the Pledge of Allegiance & The Lords Prayer are not allowed in schools anymore because the word ‘God’ is mentioned…

A 15 year old child in Ohio wrote the following:

NEW School prayer:

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That’s no offence; it’s a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God’s name is prohibited by the state.

We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the ‘unwed daddy,’ our Senior King.
It’s ‘inappropriate’ to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such ‘judgments’ do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It’s scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Amen

If you aren’t ashamed to do this, please pass this on.

Jesus said, ‘If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.’

Not ashamed. Pass this on.
******************************
We hear you, son. We are not ashamed. Pass it on.

Vietnam 1966

To our dear, beloved servicemembers, ‘Thank you for your service, and welcome home.’ That is first and foremost. Second, I received this e-mail from a friend, and I’ve seen it before. I do not of its actual truthfulness, but wouldn’t it be great if it is true? Never forget.
******************************
Ann Margaret….

This is a good counter balance story to the Jane Fonda Vietnam Woman Of The Year story.

Vietnam 1966

Richard, (my husband), never really talked a lot about his time in Vietnam other than he had been shot by a sniper. However, he had a rather grainy, 8 x 10 black and white photo he had taken at a USO show of Ann Margaret with Bob Hope in the background that was one of his treasures.

A few years ago, Ann Margaret was doing a book signing at a local bookstore. Richard wanted to see if he could get her to sign the treasured photo so he arrived at the bookstore at 12 o’clock for the 7:30 signing.

When I got there after work, the line went all the way around the bookstore, circled the parking lot and disappeared behind a parking garage. Before her appearance, bookstore employees announced that she would only sign her book and no memorabilia would be permitted.

Richard was disappointed, but wanted to show her the photo and let her know how much those shows meant to lonely GI’s so far from home. Ann Margaret came out looking as beautiful as ever and, as second in line, it was soon Richard’s turn.

He presented the book for her signature and then took out the photo. When he did, there were many shouts from the employees that she would not sign it. Richard said, ‘I understand. I just wanted her to see it.’

She took one look at the photo, tears welled up in her eyes and she said, ‘This is one of my gentlemen from Vietnam and I most certainly will sign his photo. I know what these men did for their country and I always have time for ‘my gentlemen.”

With that, she pulled Richard across the table and planted a big kiss on him.

She then made quite a to-do about the bravery of the young men she met over the years, how much she admired them, and how much she appreciated them. There weren’t too many dry eyes among those close enough to hear. She then posed for pictures and acted as if he were the only one there.

Later at dinner, Richard was very quiet. When I asked if he’d like to talk about it, my big strong husband broke down in tears. ‘That’s the first time anyone ever thanked me for my time in the Army,’ he said.

That night was a turning point for him. He walked a little straighter and, for the first time in years, was proud to have been a Vet. I’ll never forget Ann Margaret for her graciousness and how much that small act of kindness meant to my husband.

Don’t be too busy today…Share this inspiring message with friends and family.

I now make it a point to say ‘Thank you’ to every person I come across who served in our Armed Forces. Freedom does not come cheap and I am grateful for all those who have served their country.

If you’d like to pass on this story, feel free to do so. Perhaps it will help others to become aware of how important it is to acknowledge the contribution our service people make. With that, she pulled Richard across the table and planted a big kiss on him.

On behalf of those who DO appreciate all that you did for us, thank you to each of you who receive this message who have served or are serving our country in the armed services or any other service.

IF YOU DON’T STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS, PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM!
******************************
To all the men and women who have ever served our country and are serving, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, AND WELCOME HOME. For those still out there in the battlefield, keep your head down and your powder dry. I am praying for your family and you. God bless you all, and Godspeed home.

Yesterday’s Tea Party, held in Bixby Park, Long Beach, California at noon, was very enjoyable and peaceful. The numbers were nothing remarkable at first glance, but it was only advertized for a week. The pitfall happened because I have never done anything like this before. As I tried to do everything legally, I was told not to advertize until the ‘i’s were dotted and the ‘t’s were crossed. It wasn’t until a week ago I gave up and just had a free speech gathering.

There were two ACORN people that did show up, a couple, but they stayed in there area and we in ours. They had some radical bumper stickers on the back of the car. Most of them were against President Bush which is quite odd when you realize the only reason they were protesting this so-called protest is because they disagreed with what we were saying. They actually stated they thought that we should pay more taxes. I disagree. However they were peaceful. That was appreciated by all.

Some people said there were 70 to 80 people there, others like the Long Beach Report stated there were 45. My sign-in sheet counted 34. Sometimes we miss a few and that could be the case here. However many showed up, everyone was polite, they cleaned up after themselves, there was no shouting except for me maybe when I spoke passionately about why I decided to have the Tea Party.

The diversity of people was amazing. There were two former Military/Intelligence men, an economist who used to work in the US Treasury Department, a former INS agent, and so many more. There was a man there who had started the Long Beach Taxpayers (group?), and he spoke about organizing toward a set goal. His goal, of course, was lowering taxes and prevent more from coming into being. A good cause indeed.

Another person was interested in trying to get all of the people who are elected and have been in office for more than two terms out of office. Well, I can’t say that anyone disagreed with him. There was a lot of clapping. Another discussion was the rip off and the lies surrounding 1A-F. These are propositions to higher taxes.

They want us to vote yes on 1A so that they will not spend more money, yet they want us to give them more money to do this. It was suggested that if they did not have the money in the first place, maybe they shouldn’t ought to spend it! That is one way to save money.

The reason I decided to have a Tea Party, first and foremost, is because I do not recognize my government. It started with the housing bubble and President Bush. He apparently believed that destroying the free market was the best way to save it. Not so.

Then when President Obama came into office, he was faced with a mess. He had an opportunity to actually show us that he meant what he said on the campaign trail by allowing us 5 days to review any and all legislation before he signed it. The stimulus package which no one read was handed to the Congress and voted on that same day. I have never seen 1300 pages of legislation move so quickly. It went from Congress to the Senate and then President Obama in less than 5 days before he signed it without any of us being able to read it. It has failed to help anyone except his friends.

Don’t get me wrong. I understand that whomever is in power helps their friends. I do not fault him for that. I just wish he had some friends that were hiring real people! His friends seem to live on Wall Street and in the banking community. Also, he was quite friendly with the housing committees and brokers, if that is what they’re called. Which brings me back to my point.

I have been waiting all my adult life to own my own home, but I could not afford one. I was counting on the housing bubble to burst. I was not counting on President Bush stating that no one should have to go through default. WHAT? I have always been under the impression that in a country where we are responsible for our own actions and contracts mean what they say, then that’s all there is to it. I was going to buy one of those foreclosed houses. What bad debts?

Then we had President Obama spending money so fast that the Fed had to print another $1,000,000,000. My, that looks like a lot of money to me, and I’m one of the ones who has to pay it back. I do not think this is fair. Especially since I will never see any of the benefits from it.

Many of the other people who also came to the Tea Party were worried about the direction this country is going. How much money is Congress and President Obama going to spend? How much higher is Governor Arnold and our State Legislatures going to raise our taxes on anything that moves? We simply cannot afford to live in these times. So why should we pay for others to stay in a business we will not be able to participate in, and why should we pay for you to stay in your house when we cannot afford one for ourselves?

This is not partisan. This is not against government. We want the Declaration of Independence our Constitution and the Bill of Rights with all its Amendments strickly adhered to as they swore on oath they would do. We do not want lawyers interpreting what was meant, we don’t want you to read in/out things are not or are written in it. Simply put, follow the same laws you create for us, and keep you word. Remember, you swore that oath on a Bible! Otherwise, we cannot not trust (less than we do not), and I sincerely do not want chaos.

Maybe some of the people who showed up at these rallies will think about running for office? I know I am fed-up enough to think about it.

There are going to be many more Tea Parties on July 4th, and I intend to have annother one. This time the information shall be posted far ahead of schedule. The nice people I met are normal, working class people who care deeply about our country, both economically and national security wise. They have never been to a protest, and I do not even like that word. It was more like an outdoor townhall meeting where we shared ideas. Yes, it may have been small, but it was a success. Even a police office came over to show his support and when he left, he was wearing a tea bag underneath his badge. Yes, it was a good day indeed. I hope to see you in July.

LB Tea Party’s A Go!

The Police have given me the okay to have our Tea Party at Bixby Park (see map here), Long Beach, California, so it is a go! So far I have a total of one people who are attending at noon until we leave on April 15, 2009, but I am looking forward to meeting many people from my area.

We were not able to protest by the Post Office or City Hall due to the fact that the Grand Prix will be here over the next weekend. Why not? You know why not, but the reason they gave me was because they have too much work to do during that week and no one is allowed to have any event during that week. Okay.

I still need volunteers, and I watched this PJTV Coalition Tea Party Show Kickoff (60 minutes) to get some ideas. I was right. They have some very good ideas. They will also be having daily coverage of the Tax Day Tea Parties all over our God-fearing, individualist, rugged, do-it-ourselves nation.

We are an honorable people, but we can be pushed too far. This government can cross that sacred line, and this they have done. Please find a Tea Party near you! [Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. | Washington D.C.]

I feel quite inadequate, because I have no money and no help on this project. I can’t even find a co-organizer! Oh well. Maybe this will be a good experience for the next time. I’ve learned how to fill out the Special Events application which it took them three weeks to figure out I did not need. Maybe I will the next time, though. I need to start way before 60 days prior to the event, and I need to be more active as far as contacting radio stations, newspapers, editorial sections, etc. I also need to get on the events listings sooner.

I was told I could not announce my event until everything was in place. Why? What a stupid law. Why is every other type of thing allowed to discuss publicly their ‘plans in the making’ in order to raise money or sell their product or stock, but I have to shut up? It’s a messed-up world out there, and it’s time we saved America. Let’s get out there and truly enjoy ourselves, whether or not we get a big crowd. At least we’ll be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Just ask any foreigner.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Today’s news shall begin with three dispatches from Michael Yon.

March 26. The first article Michael writes is about a helicopter that went down, and he also writes a little cautionary piece. lol

A helicopter went down with interesting consequences. Please read.

Interesting that the short dispatch on weapons to Mexico is resulting in such a torrent of comments.

My work is misquoted around the world every day, but nowhere as often as on my own site. Some readers seem to think that I wish to ban firearms in the United States, or that I claim that automatic weapons are flowing to Mexico. Automatic weapons almost certainly are flowing to Mexico, which would explain how they got there. But I didn’t write it. Nor would an easy reading of the short dispatch reveal that I am calling to ban guns in the United States. It’s just fascinating to see apparent gun-fanatics misquote a document that is just inches away on the same computer screen. If they invest only that minimal level of attention to the guns they are apparently packing, it’s just a matter of time before they accidentally shoot themselves or someone else. Attention to detail is an important component of gun safety.

His next dispatch is in regard to the AfPak situation.

Before I read a dozen op-eds reinterpreting what the President said, which of course can sway one’s raw thoughts, it can be of some minor value to make a few observations. I was particularly interested in and waiting for comments on a few topics, such as the Afghan Army and Police. In that regard, the President left me disappointed.

More on the AfPak:

An Iraq-experienced young officer shares some well-informed insights.

There seems to be a very warm welcome for President Obama’s newly unveiled AfPak strategy. Am I alone in seeing this plan as a road map to failure? Of course Pakistani and Afghan leaders welcome the plan that will put billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars worth of assets at their disposal. The more invested we become in their corruption, the more leverage they have. Karzai wouldn’t be able to administer Atlanta or Miami, yet he has strategic influence with the United States and NATO. Such people are happy to see more influence pumping through the pipes, yet we have no plan to build the 400,000 security forces that our own experts say are required to secure Afghanistan. Instead, we have a plan to reach the half-way mark after about three years, and no announced plan to reach 400,000.

There is little in the Obama plan to be excited about. Some have called it “bold,” but from my boots it looks like a recipe for disaster.

We are steaming toward failure in AfPak, but with more steam than ever before.

Wow. Michael has proved to be ahead of the curve in the past. Maybe the Obama administration should pay attention to what he writes.

Now for North Korea, that pesky little pipsqueak. He is apparently planning on putting two American journalists on trial for ‘spying’. You can read it about it at CNN and if the article is missing from that link, you may read about it here.

The next article should chill you. It is from ACT! For America, and they are letting us know that the Jihadis have successfully gotten the UN to criminalize all religions except Islam.

UN body OKs call to curb religious criticism.
By FRANK JORDANS

GENEVA (AP) — The U.N.’s top human-rights body approved a proposal backed by Muslims nations Thursday urging the passage of laws around the world protecting religion from criticism. The proposal by Pakistan had drawn strong criticism from free-speech campaigners and liberal democracies. A simple majority of 23 members of the 47-nation Human Rights Council voted in favor of the resolution. Eleven mostly Western nations opposed it and 13 countries abstained. The resolution urges states to provide “protection against acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred in general.” [Continue reading.]

Do not allow these words to fool you. Just take a look around and see how many Christians are at this very moment imprisoned for teaching about Christ. Is that tolerance?

Then we have “The Idiots Guide to Pakistan” by Nicholas Schmidle. It is a six page article, but it is worth your time.

This next article deserves the full text be shared with you. It is from a group I’ve belonged to for quite a while, and we need your prayers.

Two young Iranian Christian women in notorious Evin Prison.

On March 5th 2009 two Iranian Christian women, Miss Marzieh Amirizadeh Esmaeilabad (30), and Miss Maryam Rustampoor (27), were arrested by the Iranian security forces, according to reports received by FCNN. Their only crime is that they are committed Christians who follow the teachings of Jesus. They are being unfairly labeled as ‘anti-government activists’, because of the hostility of the government towards practicing Christians.

Their shared apartment was searched and personal belongings confiscated. They were hand-cuffed and first taken to the Police and Security Station 137 in Gysha, West of Tehran for interrogation. Later they were taken to Vozara Detention Centre. Then they were taken to the Branch 2 of the National Security Section of the Revolutionary Court. Afterwards, several sessions of interrogation took place. Finally, on March 18th, after appearing at the Revolutionary Court, they were sent to the notorious Evin Prison where they are being held without charge.

They have been told they could be freed on a bail of US$400,000. This excessive bail level is unrealistic and is designed to intimidate and make the release impossible. The families have subsequently been told on several occasions a judge is not available to discuss the case.

Both women are allowed just a one minute telephone call every day to their immediate families. Both are unwell and in need of urgent medical attention. During their last call on March 28 Marzieh said that she was suffering from an infection and high fever. She said ‘I am dying’.

There has been a noted increase in government intimidation of the Christians. Last year they were over 50 known cases of arrests and imprisonment. They were some cases of torture.

Iranian Christian leaders from around the world are calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Marzieh and Maryam.

We ask world governments to put pressure on Iran to ensure freedom of religion.

Prayers are being offered for their safe release. We ask Christians around the globe to continue to pray.

Thank you,
prayforiran.org.

My prayers are with you.

In this dispatch, Michael allows his sense of humor to peek from under the tent.

Guns to Mexico might become a contentious issue. There are few certainties in life, but there are some: as with the Iraq war, the first casualty about guns to Mexico will be the Truth. Gun Fanatics will wave the Constitution; Anti – Gun Fanatics will wave anything they can find, probably something they had been wearing; the Government will mumble and walk in circles, while Mexico merges with the United States, and Clinton blames America for Mexico being Mexico.

I’ll go back to Afghanistan where it’s safe and things are more predictable.

Put in the category of Fanatic. I’m an American Patriot and proud of it! 😉

For those of you concerned about that worm that is supposed to be going around, PC Mag has a good article about it. Hat tip: third world county.

That should be enough news for now. I really ought to be starting on a new post. Have a nice day.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.
