There is a very symbolic and treasured story that goes along with the deaths of these two men. They each waited until the 4th of July, made sure the other made it as well even though they were not speaking to one another, and it was on the 50th anniversary of our young constitution. If only we had such gents as these today to protect our beautiful America and our Liberties.
O Lord, why hast Thou hidden Thy face? From whence shall come one so brave in these times of such import and strife? I repent of my sins, Lord Jesus, please heal our land. ‘Tis You, O Lord Jesus. The only One I know who is able and willing to guide us now. Please help us through this storm, dear Father. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
To everyone I pray your Independence Day is as blessed as can be. Please remember, however, all of those who fought the good fight to make and keep today possible. Thank you.
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can.

While I too appreciate the US Armed Forces who fight to defend the US, it’s a shame that the current war is not to defend the US, but to make a few more rich and keep the rest of the country in fear of a few fanatics. As if there were never fanatics before.
Bush/Cheney/Rove have read Orwell as if it was a playbook, not a warning. How sad that the citizens of the US will be paying for their decisions in lives now and a debt that will be passed to the next generation.

“It does not matter whether the war is actually happening, and, since no decisive victory is possible, it does not matter whether the war is going badly. All that is needed is that a state of war should exist.”
– Orwell’s 1984
First I would like to thank you for taking the time to comment. I am not to scream at you. lol. However, I do disagree with you. Let me explain why.
If a person who knew nothing about the planet’s history were to look at what is happening in two different ways (this keeps it less personal), they might see this.
1. The first way: Each war is separate and of its own ‘value’ or cause. Many of the wars fought by the USA could be said as much as you have described. Take Kosovo, for instance. There was NO national security reason for us to start that war. None. That is one example.
2. The second way: Each geographical location is a part of the larger theatre of the same war. This is one I subscribe to. These people have started the war, and they will not be dealt with diplomatically. Iran is in the process of creating an atomic bomb. Would you feel comfortable with this? They have already threatened us with death. I consider this the green light to take them out (the regime). They are stoning to death women who’ve been raped, they hang young men for drinking beer, speaking their mind, and they also commit extended torture against these innocent people.
If someone tells me they are going to kill me, I have a legal right here in America to have this person convicted for making a threat against my life. Should the bar be lower or higher for our enemies? I’d like to know your opinion on this. Thank you again, and have a wonderful Sunday. 😉
Rosemary, you are right on. It’s frightening that most people in our (still) wonderful country refuse to see, hear or believe the stealth jihad that is building momentum. I don’t care if you call them radical Islamists, terrorists, Muslims or misled jerks, the end result is the continuous encroachment into our government, schools, businesses and neighborhoods. I continue to read the Quran, the Hadith and Shari’a because it is vital that you know your enemies if you hope to defeat them. (I am a practicing Christian, a Methodist)
The Quran, holy book of Islam, is full of violence, not love and not peace.
Keith Ellison of Minnesota, the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Congress said, “You can’t back down. You can’t chicken out. You can’t be afraid. You got to have faith in Allah, and you’ve got to stand up and be a real Muslim. (Detroit Free Press, Dec. 25-26, 2006) Ellison swore into office on the Quran.
Quran Sura (chapter)
Sura 5:17
Infidels are those who declare: “God is the Christ, the son of Mary”
Sura 9:123
Make war on the infidels who dwell around you.
Sura 2:191
Kill the disbelievers wherever we find them.
World peace to a Westerner means peaceful coexistence. World peace to a Muslim means world Islam, the world submitting to the will of Allah.
Muslim diplomacy involves the concept known as “al-Taqiyya” which literally means to conceal or disguise one’s beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, intentions or strategies. thus preventing or guarding against your enemy. And our present administration is going to “negotiate” with these people? Unbelievable! It is permissible in Islam to speak falsehoods for the sake of Allah. It is acceptable to always lie and deceive non-Muslims.
We’re in for a world of hurt if we begin to react at this late date. If we continue to ignore what is before us, who knows.

I am aware of the Arabic words and their meanings. They speak to us in English, and they to their own in Arabic. Quite diffent. I’m half Mohawk. I’ve seen this kind of talk before! Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I’m no one’s fool! 😉
Thank you for you details for my other readers. They are pretty much up on this too, but it’s always good to keep remembering the words, the meanings, the deception, the threat, etc.
I’m First Southern Baptist myself. 😉
Have a blessed day.
