A very good man, David Jeffers, writes these daily devotionals. This is one that I just had to ask if he would mind if posted. It explains how I have been feeling and wandering about since the election. You should read it, even if you are not religious. It makes such good, common sense.

I’ve already received dozens of emails from people trying to understand. I would love to write some brilliant words of understanding but I do not have them. I am seeking God trying to understand, but He is silent. That’s because He has already spoken in His Word and has rebuked our nation. Many, many Christians were praying for God’s deliverance based off of 2 Chronicles 7:14:

“…if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

What we forgot is what I warned of in my book over two years ago:

As a nation, if we are willing to humble ourselves before God and acknowledge Him as the provider and sustainer of our great land, then God will do what He promised in 2 Chronicles 7:14. This is a favorite verse for evangelicals whenever the subject of America and its decline comes up. But what many evangelicals fail to remember and to share with the rest of America is verses 19-20:

“But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them, then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them; and this house which I have sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.”

Can we really expect God to not cast us out of His sight if we as a nation continue to turn away from Him and forsake His laws?

I forgot my own warning. I foolishly place my faith in Americans. America is a nation that was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and yet we are an apostate nation. Fearlessly speaking God’s Word has given way to political correctness; the absolute truth of the Bible has given way to the moral relativism of “enlightened” people.

God is rebuking America because the Church has not humbled itself and turned from its wicked ways and neither have I for that matter. I allowed myself to be moved by pragmatism instead of piety; I trusted haughtiness instead of holiness. So now comes the refining and it will not be pleasant but it will be much needed. I pray that God refines me, that He removes the wicked dross of worldliness from my life.

Although I do not have all the answers for what happened I do know this; God is still in control:

“Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.” (Job 41:11)

I will not quit. I admit I was ready to last night. I am still angry because I cannot get over the feeling that bad behavior from one party’s leaders and its candidates was rewarded. They disparaged our military and our nation and the people rewarded them with more power. So be it because the other party behaved worse, and many of the pastors and Christian leaders and leaders of the pro-family/pro-life movement across America behaved badly. They rewarded bad behavior by supporting candidates of which God clearly does not approve. So did I.

Everything under heaven is God’s. I have no rights; I am a slave to Jesus Christ. That is how the brother of Jesus described himself at the opening of his letter:

“James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.” (James 1:1)

I am not my own, I was bought for a price, one that I could never pay. America is not its own, it was also bought at a price, one that no American could him or herself alone pay. We have become a nation that believes it is entitled and that clearly sold in this election.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

Such are the times and I can think of no better to time for the Lord to revive my soul and my spirit because without revival there will be no revolution. So it was in the birth of our nation and so it is in what may be its twilight.

What is in store for our nation? I don’t know.

But for those of us who claim Jesus Christ we have the blessed hope of His return:

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” (Revelation 22:11)

I need to once again live my life with this truth.

Beloved, fear not.

I leave you with the last two verses in the Bible.

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” (Revelation 22:20-21)

In Christ

Dave
Ps. 37:4

“If you’re receiving these devotionals for the first time and would like to receive them on a regular basis, please click here and use “Please add to Devotional List” as the subject.

Maybe it is a touch too religious for those who think only of themselves and never wonder about Who created all of this, but I’m grateful you read this far. It shows you are open-minded. Does this speak to your heart? Would you like to receive devotionals everyday? Just e-mail Dave. BE NICE.

If I find out anyone from this site is cruel to a man who has lost his son, Eddie Jeffers, defending this country, you will be banned from here. I mean it. This man is not bothering you, so don’t bother him. I just had to say my piece about this. There are some idiots out there.

Getting back to the point. Would you like me to pray for you? Please let me know by sending me an e-mail. You can find it in my profile. (Click ‘view my profile’.) If you would like more people to pray for you, please e-mail David. Better yet, join our devotional. 😉

I love our Lord, Jesus Christ, and I cannot imagine living my life without Him. Not with all I’ve been through and witnessed. I know He is real. If you want to debate, again, I refer to the fact that I will ban you. This is one topic we can disagree on, but do not bother debating it with me. Especially not today. I’m just not up to it and for that, I apologize. I just want to cry. Have a nice day.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

America did not shed so much blood, treasure and tears only to bring Marxism to our own shores. I refuse to pay allegience to a Marxist, and I will do everything legally within my power to stop it. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. If you Republicans want to play nice to get along, get the hell out of my party or we’ll start a true American Conservative Party.

If you do not believe that there is a candidate running for president who is a socialist if not a Marxist, take a very good listen to this.

Hat tip: NakedEmporerNews.

We have shed much blood. We have lost many young and brilliant and brave and scared young men. We have sacrificed too much of our sacred treasure to turn around and disgrace these men by inviting into our country that which they fought against. We shall not dishonor their memories. We shall not dishonor their missions. We shall not dishonor their victories. No way. No how. No Obama!

Please forgive my political anger. I cannot believe my beloved country would knowingly turn from a capitalist society to a communist society. I truly believe my American brothers and sisters would never do that.

It is the media I blame for their lack of reporting on one candidate and trying to destroy the character of another. It is disgraceful and UNAMERICAN. That’s right. I said it. Come and try to sue me. TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE. In case all you fancy lawyers forgot that, too…

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

As everyone is busy worrying about the economy and the upcoming election, there has been another fatwa threatening Europe, journalists, tourists, and anyone else who dares enter the Arabian Peninsula who is not an Islamist. Haven’t you heard this yet? And you probably never will.

At Counter Terrorism Blog, they remain busy trying to keep us alert and aware of the dangerous world in which we live. It is dangerous, and not one politician is referencing this to the population of the United States of America. Shameful as it is, the other side would call it fear-mongering. Well, let me tell you. It is worth being afraid! Especially when our politicians refuse to inform us.

Take for example this excerpt regarding the Danish cartoons and the publishers:

“[T]he Europeans have entered—as they have entered previously—into a Christian war with Islam and the Muslims. They have opened the doors of hell for themselves, and have opened wide the door to the killing and slaughter of their citizens… If they do not rid themselves of these cartoons, apologize for them, declare that they are no longer permitted, and punish those who insult the Prophet of the Muslims, may Allah bless him and grant him salvation, then they shall be a legitimate target. Furthermore, it will become the responsibility of every Muslim to slaughter them anywhere in the world, and to set upon them with heavy blows.” [Continue reading.]

This was their second fatwa. The first came from an article written in their new official magazine named, ‘Sada al-Malahim’, and it is titled, ‘Issue #1: Failed Yemeni Security Operation‘. It was published in January of this year. The excerpt I used is titled, ‘Issue #2: Danish Cartoon Controversy (“Illumination, by Abu Hurairah al Sanani”). It was published in March of this year.

The next item is titled, ‘Issue #2: Threats to Those Entering the Arabian Peninsula (“Bearing No Responsibility”)‘ is also rather disturbing. Do you remember when the journalists blamed our Troops for the deaths of their comrades? Well, they should read this next excerpt:

we disavow responsibility for any infidel who has entered the Arabian Peninsula, and his blood and money are open for the taking… Beware entering the Arabian Peninsula under any name or guise—be it as tourists, diplomats, scientific delegations, experts, or journalists. Otherwise, you shall be the primary target of the mujahideen. By Allah, the knife of Abu Musab [al-Zarqawi] is still dripping blood, and we are now holding it. [Continue reading.]

This was published in the March article also. All of these articles can be found at The NEFA Foundation. They find the articles, then they translate the Arabic into English. A very good resource to have.

It may be October now, but do you remember hearing anything about these threats or has the politics of destruction taken the place of true destruction? I do not remember these fatwas. That is why I am mentioning them now. I wonder, does the government have this data translated? How much data do they have that is not yet translated? This is from March! It is now October. Does it truly take that long to translate Arabic? If it does, we are in trouble no matter who is elected.

I find this troubling in another sense as well. Already we are seeing over 3000 mosques built in the USA with Saudi Arabian money. If I remember correctly, there were 15 of 19 Saudis that hit us on September 11, 2001. That is a very real concern. If someone would like to say this is profiling, good! It is. I would not look for an English or a Danish person from the MIDDLE EAST. Good Lord. Have people lost their minds or just their will to live?

These fatwas are still current. One thing we have learned from experience is that they never quit. It is a shame to see so many Americans quiting due to weariness of a war they never were involved in psychologically (or any other way except to protest it). Maybe this is the problem? Maybe they should all be involved. If they refuse to wear the uniform, they should contribute their time doing something necessary to fulfill the obligations of the Military. We could use the help.

In WWI and WWII, people went to the factories to help build the equipment we needed. Now we outsource even that. This is unacceptable! I say we tell the Sierra Club to go fishing! They are out of business. How can the whole world be at war and only the enemy knows this? UNACCEPTABLE.

Sorry, but I just feel so helpless. Writing about it, talking about it, shouting about it, calling about it. It is getting me nowhere, or so it feels. What can I do? First, I can vote for John McCain. Second, I can make my ideas known. As little access as I have, I can still try. It is better than not trying at all. Third, I can arm myself for when the war finally breaks out on our shores, and it will. Fourth, I can become involved in the political process.

Starting November 5, I’m thinking about running for Congress. My brother does not support me in this idea, because he does not think I can physically handle it. If I have to do this on my own, he’s probably right. I don’t think I will be alone though. How about the rest of you? Do you want to run for Congress? Should we all run for Congress? We’re better than the bums they have in there now! Think about it. Please. Good day.

The group of Vets For Freedom is very actively trying to get their message to public so you can know the truth the dinosaur media refuses to tell. They have news reports, actions that you may participate in to help, videos, and a special section for American Patriot Heroes. Today I will share with you one of those Heroes. (The writing below is done by Vets For Freedom.)

Joe Dan “Doc” Worley.

On September 17, 2004, while on patrol with Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, in Fallujah, Iraq, an IED exploded into a humvee killing a Marine and an Iraqi Interpreter. Not even 10 days prior, his former platoon had seven Marines killed in action when a vehicle borne IED drove into their patrol. The attrition from the blast was so severe that the platoon, known as Pale Rider Three, would be disbanded and the surviving Marines sent to other platoons in Fox Company.

Immediately reacting to the explosion, Doc Worley went into automatic pilot. No one needed to explain to this Corpsman the importance of his job after an enemy attack. Worley grabbed his aid bag and took off toward the thick smoke, preparing himself for the worst-case scenario of this close quarters explosion.

As Worley sprinted across a bridge, a secondary IED exploded only a few feet away from him, ripping off his left leg instantly. Experiencing mind-numbing pain throughout his entire body, Worley began to assess his own condition, something he had done countless times for others. He put himself through the life saving aid procedures as he had so many other times to others, when there were too many injured for one Corpsman to handle. Worley applied a tourniquet just above his own left knee, an extremely painful procedure that was vital in saving his own life. [Continue reading at the Veterans For Freedom.]

These are truly remarkable men and women, and we owe them more than we could ever repay. That is why we must do everything in our power to help by volunteering at the Veterans Administration Hospitals in our area, and we must prevent the wacked out nuts who would rather destroy our country and turn it over to al Qaida than to stand up and fight for their rights themselves. Shameful, but true. We must not fret, however. We must decide to take a stand, and stand. Have a nice day.

An Iraqi friend of mine brought to my attention the plight of the Assyrian Christians in Iraq. Just recently, the Provincial Election Law (Article 50) has been abolished, leaving all minorities no protection and no guarantee of seats in the Parliament.

There have been demonstrations throughout the world by various concerned groups including over 5,000 in demonstrations within Iraq.

In a nation where over 2 million people have left and are refugees both inside and outside the country, minorities including Yazidis, Shabak, as well as the indigenous people of Iraq, the Assyrian Christians and others are deeply concerned at what they see as an Islamic drift in the country with growing influence from Iran and other more conservative regimes.

They see Article 50 which sets aside seats for each minority to protect them as a check on that drift.

One Assyrian Christian representative asking for anonymity said, “Article 50, which protects the minorities, is critical for the future of Iraq. We feel, in fact, that a similar provision should be in the Iraqi Parliament where for example we have only two seats out of 275.

“If our numbers are properly considered – 2.5 Million or approximately 10% of the country at the last count during the time of Saddam Hussein – we should in fact have 10 seats.” [Continue reading ASSIST News Service (ANS), October 3, 2008.]

I have presented this news to you by an independent news source, because I now have a list of articles from Waleeta. Her organization is Assyria Foundation. They are trying to help people within and outside of Iraq aware of their plight.

In this previous article, I noticed (some words so far) that President Talibani has made promises toward renewing Article 50.

“The law was just recently passed,” Talibani said. “It is not consistent with the Constitution nor with what we feel is needed for Iraq. We need to do all we can to help those who are currently displaced to return home. As President I have the right to amend what parliament passes and I can assure you that we will be amending the change in the law immediately.”

He continued: “We need to protect our minorities and this change sends exactly the wrong message. We are doing all we can to help those displaced to return and recently have put together a plan to provide 10 million Dinars (Approximately 8,500) to all who return as well as help in building a home and starting business for all.”

In earlier statements Prime Minister Nouri Maliki and Foreign Minister Zebari echoed Talibani’s words by promising monthly payments to all refugees from the ballooning Iraqi Oil Fund as well as recognition for an Assyrian Province in the homeland of the indigenous Assyrian Christians in Northern Iraq.

“We need to get a message to the Assyrians and others that now is the time to come home. Whatever they need we will do for them,” Talibani concluded.

Let us pray this is true. However, it is the Kurds who I have stood up for them to have their own state (as long as they do not claim Assyrian lands) who are the ones who are violently abusing our Christian brothers and sisters. This is uncalled for, this is a violation of their civil rights, and it must STOP.

I lay this at your feet, STATE DEPARTMENT Bremer. You drafted this. You implemented this. You disbanded the Iraqi Army. President Bush is too much of a decent person (for his own good) to say anything against you, BUT I WILL! I knew it was a disaster the moment the state dept started meddling where they do not belong. You have proven me correct.

Back to the main point…

I have six articles I would like you to read so you may grasp the extent to which these people suffer even until today. They need our prayers, our posts, our witnessing for them, and our voices. Please join me in this struggle with my brothers and sisters in Iraq. Thank you.

These article are from the Assyrian International News Agency.

Kurdish Land Grabs Leave Assyrians Dependent on Food Aid.
September 11, 2008.

“It’s odd to see Assyrians (also known as Chaldeans and Syriacs) line up for food aid in a village which boasts rich agricultural lands and plentiful water. The explanation can be seen just a few meters from the center of the village, where 15 Muslim Kurdish families have built their houses. The Muslim Kurds have forced themselves into the village and have taken control of all the farming land and the water sources belonging to the village. The Kurdish families have also built a mosque. In Muslim tradition, once a mosque is built it may never be destroyed; thus the Kurds have announced to the Assyrians their intention of staying permanently.”

Dutch MPs Visit North Iraq, Call for Protection for Assyrians.
April 15, 2008.

“Based on the information gathered during the visit, the delegation has concluded the the Christian Assyrians are being eradicated from their ancestral lands and the international community must act to protect them.”

Action Needed to Save Iraq’s Assyrians.
October 2, 2008.

“I spoke to a number of displaced widows who shared their tragic stories. One woman told that her husband had been kidnapped and a $15,000 ransom demanded. Although she paid, her husband was never returned and is presumed dead. Another widow’s husband had been killed by a bomb and she has been left to care for their son and two daughters, one of whom has Down’s Syndrome. Another told me that her husband had been killed by a roadside bomb in 2006 while he was returning from church. A few days after her husband’s death her daughter was kidnapped. At this point she started crying uncontrollably and we had to end the interview. I later learned that her daughter has never returned and is presumed dead.”

“The average Iraqi faces many risks but Christians are exposed to even more: they have to deal with the additional threat of attacks from Islamic extremists, who want to drive them out of Iraq, kill them or force them to convert to Islam; attacks by insurgents who mistakenly view the Christians as close allies of the “Christian” West; abduction by kidnappers who think that the generally well-educated Christians are more wealthy than other Iraqis; and having large areas of their land – and many of their houses – misappropriated by neighbouring Kurds in in what appears to be a systematic attempt to take over Christian-owned land and drive Christians out of the Kurdish region. At least 58 Christian villages have been partially or wholly misappropriated by Kurds.” [HOW DARE YOU!]

Iraq Christians Demand Reserved Council Seats.
October 6, 2008.

“We defend the rights that have been stolen from us and call on the authorities to ensure that there is no discrimination.

“With one voice, we appeal to our leaders — (President) Jalal Talabani, (Prime Minister) Nuri al-Maliki, (parliament speaker) Mahmud al-Mashhadani, (Shiite spiritual leader) Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani and the (Sunni) Association of Muslim Scholars to restore Article 50.”

The dropping of the clause from the law adopted by parliament has drawn criticism from the United Nations as well as Iraqi minorities.

Iraqi Christians Call for Autonomy.
October 4, 2008.

…U.N. officials Thursday called on Iraqi lawmakers to reinstate Article 50 by Oct. 15, the first day candidates would be eligible for review.

Jamal Zeno, an Assyrian lawmaker, said Iraqi Christians had drafted a memo for self-rule in the northern province of Dahuk, Voices of Iraq reported.

“The demonstrators will present an official memo to the local authorities in Dahuk province to back their efforts and help them demand the rights of our people,” he said.

More Than 10,000 Iraqi Christians Protest in Iraq’s Dahuk.
October 2, 2008.

“Parliament’s decision to remove Article 50, which specifies a quota for minorities in provincial councils, has sparked a heated reaction from several political blocs representing the country’s Christians and other minorities.” [Removed September 24, 2008.]

Over at Blackfive, Maj. Pain has a post that should be read. Crescent City (California) Triplicate, specifically Adam Madison, received from Afghanistan a very moving letter written by Capt. Bruno de Solenni. Here is a portion of it.

First off, when I first joined the National Guard, back in 1996, I had no idea that I would be here today. I do remember making the decision on Christmas Day when I was about 20 years old and felt like I was going nowhere with my life and needed to take a new direction. As my father and mother had stated earlier, I was always fascinated with history and the military, and was amazed at some of the hardships my grandfather endured in both WWI and WWII.

Eventually, a few years after joining, I did decided to go back to college at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore., where there was a GOLD (Guard Officer Leadership Development) program that allowed me to earn a federal commission as an Army officer while I continued to work toward my degree (which the National Guard also paid for).

In a sense, I was doing exactly what the National Guard said I could do if I joined … Finally, on May 11, 2001, I received my commission as a young, immature, 2nd lieutenant full of piss and vinegar still not knowing exactly what I was getting into.

When Sept. 11 happened, it was then that I realized that things were going to be very different for me and the rest of this country. One month later our battalion received the alert order that we would mobilize the following year to fill in on the current MFO (Multi National Force and Observers) mission in Sinai, Egypt. After returning from Egypt, I was home for eight months before volunteering again to go to Iraq for OIF II. It was there I truly (became) an infantry officer and learned a lot about myself and people in general.

Something that still upsets me is the fact that they exploited some of the crimes soldiers committed over there as a reflective view to the rest of the world of what our armies stood for. I am not saying that we didn’t make mistakes, we did make them and we have painfully corrected them.

Our true problems here are definitely reflective of the Pakistani border and the lack of troops covering it, which has been an issue for years and is being exploited by the Taliban as they train freely in Pakistan, unopposed by anyone.

In my opinion, Afghanistan does need a troop surge of American soldiers as well, otherwise we will only be able to sustain combat operations with minimal effect of containing Taliban insurgents. As I speak about this, these are only my views and opinions based on my experiences.

The good days over here are when we are truly sticking it to the Taliban in a firefight that is in our favor and you just drop ped 130 105mm rounds on their position. Or when a … hot F-15 pilot flies over your head strafing the Taliban with his Vulcan cannons.

The (bad) days are whe n you are covering up your your sergeant major from being exposed to the dust-out of a Chinook helicopter that is landing to medivac him out. At the same time he cries because he doesn’t want to leave his team as he lies there half paralyzed with shrapnel in him, while fluids are coming out of his eyes and ears signifying severe brain trauma, (meaning we can’t give him morphine).

The bad days are when you put your buddy in a body bag and you don’t even recognize him because his limbs are missing and there holes in him everywhere. The miracles are when his last words are, “tell my wife and kids I love them,” before he dies in his best friend’s arms after struggling for several agonizing minutes to get the words out because there is a fist-size hole in his head.

And last20but not least, the best days are when an Afghan comes up to you thanking you for everything that you have done to help them and for making their (home) a better place now that the Taliban are gone.

If anything, this is probably the biggest reason why I proudly enjoy being over here. I can’t explain it to anyone and there is no description of what it feels like, but it was the same feeling I got when I was in Iraq as well. And I am sure it’s the same feeling that generations of American soldiers before me have gotten as they fought and sacrificed their lives for the freedoms that we enjoy today.

Perhaps the biggest thing that has made being over here much more bearable, is the amount of public support that we have received from people. Getting a care package or a letter of support when you are out in the middle of nowhere from a complete stranger, thanking you, does make the day seem a little better.

I would especially like to thank my Aunt J an Martin, and The local Troop Support organization who have provided care packages to soldiers serving overseas and have volunteered endless hours of their time and energy making our lives easier. The British soldiers (who don’t get anything) are extremely grateful as well.

Once again, I cannot thank everyone enough for their support and all that they have done …

Sincerely,

Capt. Bruno de Solenni [Read the whole article, please.]

Trust me, I left enough of the letter out so you should go read it, but I did try to give you a sense of who Capt. Bruno de Solenni is and was.

Capt. Bruno was expected home for Christmas, but he will not be able to make it this year, nor any other year. September 20, 2008, Capt. Bruno de Solenni was killed in action by an IED in a far away place named Afghanistan fighting for our freedom and theirs.

What better sacrifice is there than lay down one’s life for another? God bless the de Solenni family and all those who loved Bruno. May you find Peace and Strength through these difficult day, months, years. May God bless you, too, Capt. Bruno de Solenni. Thank you for your sacrifice. May your all of your troubles be gone and all your joys be complete in Heaven.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.
